FRS 8: Accounting Policies, Changes
in Accounting Estimates and Errors (CODE A072)
The programme objective of this seminar
is to facilitate a clear understanding of the principles,
facts and circumstances that determine changes in accounting
policies, changes in accounting estimates and correction of
errors. It also explain how the requirements enhance
relevance and reliability of financial information and
comparability and consistency of an entity’s financial
statements.

The clarified Singapore Standards
on Auditing (SSAs) were issued in January 2010 and are
effective for audits of financial statements for periods
beginning on or after 15 December 2009. The ICPAS
Clarity Bulletin has been launched to highlight salient
changes of selected clarified SSAs, focusing on new and
revised SSAs with significant changes, which would impact on
